Leadership

My leadership philosophy is:

  1. If it's a growing, or decaying organization, then I play a super active role to steer the ship. Examples: CHS TNT (growing), CHS ASB Clubs Commission (decaying then stabilized)
  2. If it's a thriving, mature organization, then I step back and play a supporting leadership role. Examples: UCSB ACM, CHS Tinovation

No matter if I'm playing an active stewardship role or supporting leadership role, continuous innovation, long term impact, and self-drive are my values.
Here are some major leadership roles I’ve taken on. This is not an exhaustive list.

President, UCSB ACM

UCSB Association for Computing Machinery
2025 – 2026

Leading UCSB’s largest CS organization with 29 officers and 200+ members
Promoted from ICPC Branch Co-Head → Vice President → President
Together, our members, officers, and I:

  • Shipped student-built software projects with Raytheon, UnwrapAI, PWC, and Turing AI. This is the first and most successful student initiative at UCSB to develop contracted projects for real companies.
  • Hosted Google, Meta, and Amazon recruiting events at UCSB with 600+ combined turnout, a record-high attendance compared to previous years
  • Organized ICPC UCSB tryout, planned the logistics behind the ICPC regionals contest, and advanced to the ICPC USA Nationals contest for first time in the past 4 years
  • Hosted outstanding alumni visits featuring Ben Smith, Google SVP of Infra and Google Fellow
  • Organized the Leetcode workshops series, System Design workshops, ACM Student Project Series, Faculty Research Connect Program, and many more

Many of the accomplishments listed above are the fruits of my fellow officers' innovation proposals and execution, with me playing a supporting role to them in these areas.

Elections Commissioner, UCSB Associated Students

UCSB Student Government
2024

Planned, executed, and moderated UCSB Associated Students Elections

Clubs Commissioner, Cupertino ASB

Cupertino High School Student Government
2021 - 2023

All of the above innovations are still in effect and have continued to make a difference at Cupertino High School long since I've graduated

Founding Producer & News Anchor, Tino News Today

Cupertino High School
2022 - 2023

Founded Cupertino High School's TV Newscast program from ground up.

  • Aired school bulletins, news, and journalistic content to 2,000 students 2 episodes per week
  • Grew Tino News Today from a solo endeavor to a team of 20 anchors, writers, and video editors
  • Grew the programming from pure school bulletins to world news, student interviews, trivia, sports coverage, and beyond

During my tenure as founding producer, Tino News Today succesfully aired 100+ episodes without a single delay or missed episode. Given the volatile nature of content production and students lead effort, this is my most prized leadership experience that showcases my understanding and practice of fault-tolerant organization design, swift conflict resolution, innovative content programming, and consistent communication and coordination. Tino News Today was what I was known for at Cupertino High School.

Tino News Today has continued to be active and grow in its programming long since my graduation. It has become a landmark for students at Cupertino High School.

Treasurer and Secretary, Tinovation

Cupertino High School's largest Programming Club
2022 - 2023

Served as 3rd in command of Tinovation's leadership.
